Cloud 9 takes on California in January Part 1

I always have a hard time figuring out what to get my loved ones for Christmas, especially my girlfriend Sara! So this year I opted to do something a lot different. Growing up in a large family I always remembered our family trips together and how much fun we had when on them.

So I wanted to give Sara an experience that she would not forget. Please keep in mind that in August we drove from Indiana all the way to California.

This time, we opted to fly! Here is a look into the journey that Sara and myself took during the week of January 6th to the 11th.

Sara boarding our flight to LAX!

We caught the earliest flight we could snag out of Chicago O'hare International Airport, due to the weather the night before! Luckily for us we got out in the nick of time. Most flights after ours were delayed. OFF WE GO!

Nothing like a beautiful shot of the mountains while flying on Cloud 9! AKA basic airplane photo ;)

A few hours later and 100ºF warmer we landed at LAX International Airport! What a relief to see no snow and sunshine. It is incredible what soaking up the sun can do for your mood! It is a definite cure for seasonal depression.

After we landed, got our rental car, and made it to our hotel... We finally stopped to get some normal food! Hands down it was the best French Toast I have ever had.

We got fueled up and headed to Long Beach for the Agenda Trade Show. Needless to say 2015 is going to be huge for a lot of brands! Keep your eyes peeled, oh and check out their swag!

After being teased for hours at Agenda we hit the streets to go shopping! I could not resist these Nike SB Lunar Janoski x 8FIVE2. These are going to be rocked at every wedding I go to from this point forward. What do you think?

Sara trying on a blazer, it kind of reminds me of Doc from Back to the Future.

Port-Potty Fitting Room

Porta-Potty or Fitting Room? Interesting!

After we got done shopping, I FINALLY GOT TO SKATE!!! The first and closest place to us at the time was the Rob Dyrdek Lafayette Skate Plaza. It is slippery but heaven on Earth!

California Donuts

Nothing says happiness like donuts plus your favorite cereal! California Donuts are seriously worth every penny spent AND they are open 24 hours a day.

California Donuts

ARE YOU DROOLING YET?!!!

Rob Dyrdek Skate Plaza

Wait 30 minutes after eating before any physical activity? NO! Go skate right afterwards :) Nothing beats skating at every skate park you can while in California!

Super Bad Liquor StoreThis is where they filmed Super Bad with Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill.

Griffith Observatory This is hands down the most beautiful place you can visit in Los Angeles at night. The Griffith Observatory at night is so breathtaking! Sara and I just enjoyed being with each other and taking in the beauty that LA has to offer. I could spend every night here!

Hollywood Sign

Pizzanista Los AngelesWe got Pizzanista after a romantic evening of watching the sunset in Hollywood!

Pizzanista StickersSara scooped up some stickers while awaiting our delicious pizza. :) Which one do you like?

After all that fun in a day we headed to The Berrics! Talk about ending your day on Cloud 9 ;) Sorry... I had to do that!
